Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP)
Our systems are equipped with the latest communication techniques, which makes it possible to monitor and control remotely from office. Our technological advantages and designing experiences are fully revealed at the protection of huge and complex structures, such as Cheviot Octabuoy and entire offshore wind turbine farms. With this experience, it is an ease for us to protect the more common structures and semi-submersibles like drilling rigs, FPSOs and SPPs, LNG tankers, Container Liners and Bulk Carriers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To design a suitable corrosion protection system for such a complex and huge structure
is not done over one night. The amount of current needed is carefully calculated to shift the natural potential of the steel to a more negative value in such a way that the complete structure will act as a cathode. As at the cathode reduction reaction takes place instead of corrosion reaction, the whole asset is protected in this way. To determine how much current is needed, the total wet surface of the structure must be known, including all additional steel parts, like cables, riser pipes, anchor chains etc. Besides, applicable standards are used to decide the current densities to achieve the negative swing. Important factors during the calculations are resistivity of the seawater (salinity content), water flows, water depths, water temperatures and coating breakdown factors.

  

Remote Monitoring and Controlling by SCADA
Wind turbines are normally located offshore and far away from mainland. With the help of our SCADA software, all the readings, changes of settings and down/uploading of data can be obtained in your own office, as the Power Unit can be remotely connected and controlled. Impressed Current Anti-Fouling (ICAF) / Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS)
Seawater intake pipe-work systems always suffer the problems of fouling. Removing this kind of bio-fouling in the pipe-work systems invariably increases the maintenance costs considerably. Ships sailing in coastal water are at the greatest danger. Our Impressed Current Anti-Fouling (ICAF) system or Marine Growth Protection System (MGPS) is the best option to prevent this kind of fouling.

The copper anodes of our ICAF/MGPS system mounted in the sea chest, strainer or under the boxcooler are connected to the Power Unit; this Power Unit has a complete set of controlling functions and guarantees the amount of dissolved copper as required into the seawater is minimum. The lifetime of anodes is prolonged to the maximum and the perfect protection is assured under all conditions. For seawater intakes, along with the copper anodes, aluminum or soft iron anodes must be installed to protect the pipe-work against corrosion.

As an expert in the protection of boxcoolers and seawater intake cooling systems for decades, we can assure you of the long term perfect functioning of the system. All data can be downloaded to an external computer and transferred by Internet for checking. System adjustments can also be easily made via the same procedure by uploading.
